About Spanish cedar: it's also called cigar box cedar (Cedrela odorata). It grows in Central and South America. It isn't a true cedar. It's in the mahogany family. The color runs pale pink to reddish brown, with a straight, even grain. It's light, with a specific gravity of 0.32 to 0.43. It has a sweet smell that keeps moths and bugs away, and it resists rot and decay. It handles moisture well, which is why it's the standard wood for lining humidors.
About Zebrawood: it comes from Cameroon and Gabon in West Africa (Microberlinia brazzavillensis or Microberlinia bisulcata). The base color is light yellow-brown with darker stripes, from golden yellow to brown, which is where the name comes from. It's heavy, hard and strong, with a specific gravity of 0.70 to 0.80. The grain is coarse and interlocked. That makes it tough to work, but it gives it the wavy look. It's a premium wood and priced that way.
